supporting both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. This system provides a modern upgrade for Volkswagen vehicles while maintaining the essential functionality of the original infotainment unit.

Important Installation Notes

• CANGATE Module Compatibility:
  • Vehicles from 2007 to 2009/2010 may have older CANGATE modules designed for previous-generation RCD/RNS audio units. If your vehicle has a ROUND steering wheel control design, it likely has this module and will require a CANGATE HARNESS ($80) to avoid battery drain due to power on/off issues.
  • Vehicles with the current design steering wheel controls do not require additional parts.
• Premium Sound System Incompatibility:
  • Note: This product is not compatible with vehicles equipped with premium sound systems that include external amplifiers. Ensure your vehicle does not have this configuration before purchasing, as it will not function properly with those setups.
  
  

Installation
Professional installation is recommended to ensure proper functionality, especially for vehicles with potential CANGATE module issues.

Note: The RCD440 PRO offers an excellent modern upgrade with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, but it is not compatible with vehicles equipped with premium external amplifier systems

Important Installation Notes

For vehicles equipped with the Idle Engine On/Off feature:

While this feature won’t damage the head unit, it may cause constant connect/disconnect cycles between your phone and the audio system when using CarPlay or Android Auto.

This could result in sync errors over time. Therefore, it’s recommended to use the system without the Idle Engine function enabled for the best performance

Parking Camera Options:

Each camera option will come with a relay, providing a smart parking view. The rear sight will remain on the screen for a certain time after shifting from reverse to drive or park.

• Badge camera is only compatible with Golf Mk5/Mk6 and Passat sedan/CC.
• Trunk handle camera will only fit certain models such as Tiguan, Passat wagon, and Jetta.

Camera Compatibility:

• If the original camera has a moving guideline function, the camera adapter will not be compatible.
• Most of VW's original reverse cameras are not compatible with the RCD440PRO. An adapter will be required to convert the video source, or it may be best to install a new camera.
• This head unit was designed for older generation models that didn’t originally offer a reverse camera as an optional accessory.

This unit does not support front camera installation or conversion
