Ford Ranger & Everest 12-inch Touchscreen & LCD Repair — SYNC 4A

Cracked screen? Touch controls not responding? Get the fault checked before replacing the complete system.

Naviplus Melbourne offers SYNC 4A touchscreen and LCD display diagnosis and repair for compatible Next-Gen Ford Ranger and Everest vehicles with the 12-inch factory portrait screen.

We assess the display and touch faults, explain the recommended repair and confirm the price before proceeding. Where suitable, replacing the affected touch panel or LCD assembly can retain the original infotainment system instead of replacing the complete head unit.

Important — A Blank Screen Does Not Always Mean a Faulty LCD

Touch-panel damage, LCD failure, power or wiring faults and the infotainment module can produce different symptoms. Diagnosis is required before confirming parts or a repair. Send a photo or video of the fault and your vehicle details before ordering or removing the unit.

Restore Your Original Factory Display

  • Cracked or damaged glass: assessment of the touch layer and underlying LCD.
  • Unresponsive touch: dead areas, inconsistent response or inaccurate touch position.
  • Ghost touches: the screen selecting functions without an intentional touch.
  • Display faults: flickering, lines, discolouration, dead pixels or a blank image.
  • Repair advice before replacement: confirm the failed component and the appropriate repair scope.
Touch Panel or LCD — What Needs Replacing?

The touch panel / digitiser detects your finger input. The LCD produces the visible picture. Depending on the display construction and damage, these may require separate parts or a complete matched screen assembly.

  • A normal picture with no touch response can indicate a touch-layer or connection issue.
  • Cracks, black patches, lines or a distorted picture may involve the LCD as well as the outer glass.
  • Ghost touches can have more than one cause; the screen and connections need assessment.
  • A completely black screen requires checks beyond the display before a screen replacement is recommended.

Symptoms help guide diagnosis but do not identify the failed part on their own.

Vehicle & Display Compatibility — Check Before Booking

System: SYNC 4A
Display: 12-inch.

For compatible Next-Gen Ford Ranger and Everest, 2022 onwards, subject to the actual fitted display, part number and connections. This page is specifically for the 12-inch version; 10.1-inch and 12-inch assemblies must not be treated as interchangeable.

The original catalogue uses the general name SYNC 4. Ford identifies the Ranger portrait system as SYNC 4A. Screen size and equipment vary by variant, market and build date; confirm the unit before booking.

  • Vehicle model, build date and variant.
  • Clear photo of the complete screen and surrounding controls.
  • Short video showing the fault and when it occurs.
  • Display / module part number if already removed.
  • Details of previous repairs, water damage or aftermarket accessories.
Factory Functions & Repair Scope
  • Retain the original factory display location and system appearance where the existing unit is repairable.
  • Test the repaired display and touch response according to the agreed work.
  • Check available factory functions after reinstallation; existing features depend on the original vehicle specification.
  • Existing Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth and navigation remain subject to the original equipment and system configuration. Screen replacement does not add features that were not previously fitted.

A screen repair does not automatically repair an audio amplifier, infotainment module, USB hub, antenna or wiring fault. If further work is needed, we explain the findings and obtain agreement before additional repairs.

No Sound, Rebooting or a System That Will Not Start?

Tell us if your Ford also has no sound, repeated restarting, a frozen startup screen or loss of infotainment functions. These symptoms may require separate head-unit, power, wiring or module diagnosis rather than a touch-panel replacement.

Contact Naviplus with a fault video and system details. We can confirm the assessment options and whether the vehicle or complete assembly is needed. Component repair, replacement or programming is quoted only where appropriate; it is not automatically included in this display service.

How the Repair Service Works
  • 1. Send your details: vehicle information, screen photos and a description of the fault.
  • 2. Confirm assessment: we identify the display version and arrange an inspection or discuss a send-in option.
  • 3. Diagnose and quote: confirm the affected components, parts availability and the repair price.
  • 4. Repair with approval: replace the affected panel or assembly where appropriate.
  • 5. Test and return: check the repaired display and advise on reinstallation or vehicle collection.

Turnaround depends on diagnosis, parts availability and damage. Confirm timing before booking; same-day repair is not guaranteed.

Workshop & Send-In Options

Contact us before sending any equipment. Confirm which parts are required, removal arrangements, freight costs and the return address with Naviplus.

  • Protect the glass and connectors during transport; use secure packaging.
  • If the unit remains in the vehicle, arrange a workshop assessment before removal.
  • Tell us about impact damage, liquid entry, previous repairs or modified wiring.
  • Professional removal and reinstallation help prevent trim, connector and screen damage.

Removal, refitting, freight and any additional coding or module work are included only when specified in your quotation.

Important Service Notes
  • Display appearance and replacement part specification are confirmed for your exact unit.
  • A cracked panel can hide additional LCD or electronics damage.
  • Repairability and final cost are confirmed after assessment.
  • Contact us before attempting a software update or replacing unrelated modules to address a hardware symptom.
  • This is a repair service for the factory system; it is not an aftermarket screen upgrade.
Warranty & After-Service Support

12-month warranty on the supplied repair parts and workmanship, subject to the confirmed service terms. Ask Naviplus to confirm coverage for your quoted repair before proceeding. Report any concern with your order details and fault description.

Unrelated faults, subsequent physical damage and the condition of components outside the agreed repair scope are assessed separately. These terms do not exclude your rights or remedies under Australian Consumer Law.

Send Us a Photo of Your Ford Screen

Include the vehicle model, build date, screen size and a short description of the fault. We will confirm the suitable assessment and repair options.
